7/22/03 Brian and I try Westville; Dogs in Lobby:
Here I am, staring at the same magazine Louie and I used last night to go to Lozoo. Tonight, Brian demanded I pick one up for him on my way over to his place. He was recommended to one of the places listed in the top 100, which happens to be a block away from his new apartment in the West Village. And so, we go.
It's a long narrow place, very cute on the outside, not as much on the inside. It's on W. 10th street, right near Bleecker.
Their most impressive offering is quite possibly the worlds best double hot dog with french fries. Not only is Hebrew National one of four choices, but the bun is perfect every time, and the fries are amazing, especially because they look like your average run of the mill fries.
They also have a filling and satisfying macaroni and cheese. $7.
Their desserts are home made. They offer a jumbo home made Oreo cookie, but they were out of them this evening, so I had the butterscotch pudding and went straight to heaven.
Oh yeah. I also had a salad, and garlic mashed potatoes. I was stuffed!
Brian now LOVES this place. So... we'll inevitably be back.
I came home to see Finnegan (right) playing with another dog in the lobby. Awwww. When they play, it looks like they're fighting. It's kind of cool to watch, and their owners seem to encourage it as they sit on the chairs in the lobby.
