8/04/03 Owen Poindexter in Penn and at Roslyn JCC; Kroplick Doors; Typhoon; Marvin Martian comes home:
Once again, I see this same pan pipe group playing in Penn Station. This time I'm with Owen Poindexter, on our way out to Long Island to videotape a summer stock play. Click on the above photo to see the group, and Owen "passing through."
Owen and the equipment at Penn in front of Tracks.
We took the train to Roslyn, and then Mommy picked us up and brought us to the JCC in Roslyn. Upon entering the auditorium, I noticed the plaque on the wall, thanking the Kroplicks for the auditorium doors! These are very close friends of my family! I am definitely back in my hometown.
We got one of the new electric trains back to the city in the evening. We tucked the equipment into the corner (left side of above photo) where there is ample space for a wheelchair that never came this evening.
Starving, we went to Typhoon and ordered a boatload of food.
Owen ordered this weird, "dark thing" that, somehow, was eggplant based. He liked it.
My maguro nuta on the left and seaweed salad on the right.
This shrimp salad was tasty and slightly tropical, but I was unable to name the fruit they put in it. I've probably never had it before.
Back at the apartment at the very end of a long night, Richard had his new animation art unpacked and ready to hang. Nifty.
