11/02/03 Boston Wedding Day 2; Bike and Fondue w/Mariah; Brian's Apartment Tasks:
In the morning, the family members at the hotel all went to the groom's father's house for brunch. Uncle Larry sits on a bench at the hotel waiting for people to get ready to leave. Last night he married off his 4th child, one more to go.
On the ground, behind the car in the lot in the morning.
This Volvo has seen a lot. It is unfazed by the broken glass on the ground.
I really like this photo of Peter. It's very "catalogue." At brunch.
The brunch in motion.
On the sign: "To Our Sox. Thanks for a great season." Not on the sign: "We lost to the god damned New York Yankees again."
Daddy dropped us off at the Meniola train station, where they are currently building a new bridge over the tracks.
Aesthetic detailing! Diamonds. I'm impressed.
Many men work on this scaffolding all at once, tethered to the bridge, as trains pass below.
One such train.
This evening, Mariah and I took advantage of the lovely night air and biked across the Brooklyn Bridge and back again. Her halo is created by her warmth and charm, not the street lamp directly behind her head.
We drop the bikes off at my place. We head out to have fondue with two of her friends. We find a 10 dollar bill on the ground on Rector Street between Church and Broadway. We will put it towards Fondue.
We are both startled when we realize Alexander Hamilton is on the front of the 10 dollar bill. This is because we found this bill directly in front of his tombstone!!! He's buried in the yard at Trinity Church, facing Rector Street between Church and Broadway!!!
We go to this funky place on the Bowery where the waitresses dress up as dominatrixes and do a song and dance at a certain hour on a certain day of the week, which is exactly 15 minutes after we sat down. Mariah dances with one of the waitresses.
Some people are startled.
Mariah will do anything... once. She's a good sport. I was frozen (with fear) to my chair.
The fondue. I have managed to live in Manhattan and not have tried this yet. It was fun and sort of tasty, and completely guilty.
We tried a big pot of cheese, and a small pot of chocolate.
Outside "Marion's," which is the name of the place.
Mariah and her two friends.
At Brian's, I fix his ceiling fan.
We put this blue tape on his window frames to protect them from the imminent paint job.
