12/06/03 Rich and Peter in the Kitchen Together making Brunch; Rich's new Cell; Peter Hits 100 Even; Cards w/Bri:

The new pots are in operation. Richard just got rid of all of his non-sticks because they found out that they release noxious fumes from which people die. So, Rich bout these. These are Lincoln Centurion made by Paderno. They are stainless steel pans. Rich uses oil (or any fat) in a particular way to create the non-stick effect. This is the stuff used in real kitchens. And so is the intensity that Rich and Peter both display as they work hard on our snow-day brunch. Matzoh-bri and Eggs Benedict.

The meal. Mmmmm. Brunch in the dark. Rich and I slept in. Then Peter calls wanting to go play in the voluminous snow. We want to stay inside. We want breakfast. The compromise: Peter goes out into the snow, shops for what we need to make breakfast (brunch, whatever), comes over, cooks with rich, and we all win. By the time all this happens, it's brunch in the dark.

We were starving. We ate everything on the table. The upper right hand plate has Matzoh Bri on it. It's essentially a Matzoh (unleavened bread) omlette. Sugar on top. Serve with grape jelly.

Rich recently got a new phone. It's big, but it does just about everything. Calendar. Contacts. Hot-synchs with outlook on windows. Palm software. MP3 player built in. Full color screen. And... oh yeah, it makes phone calls. Brian, a lover of all things cell, checks it out.

This is for real. This is not a boy taken to having moments of extremely happy emotion and displaying it so readily for all to see. This is a reserved personality having a moment of pure bliss. He hit exactly 100 points in our game of Hearts, by accident, thus reverting his score back to zero, and the game goes on!!! If a player goes over 100 points, the game ends, so instead of having lost, he is now poised to win!!!

Richard's leg was asleep when he stood from this game and had trouble walking to the bathroom.

We hit the kitchen for a late late snack as it is 4am and we're still playing cards!!! Ahhh!
