3/28/04 Taping a Play (Opening Stadium Seating) with Brian at the Sid Jacobson JCC:
When we came into the theatre, the seats were collapsed against one wall.
So, the stage looked out of place, without an audience.
The kids from the previous program had to quickly pack up and leave before they could open the bleachers.
A custodian came in with a remote control that had to be plugged in somewhere underneath the bleachers.
With the press of a button, they slowly began to move across the room.
They were all in a folded position.
Almost done.
Then the custodian(s) had to lift up each pair of chair backs, and spin the aisle railings into the correct orientation.
The play was totally bizarre: Snow White and the Magical Mystery Tour. The plot was snow white in multiple countries, and lots of beatles songs.
After setting up we watch a final rehearsal.
Awww.
And when we were ready to leave, I found a prop hat on the floor.
Later that evening, I had dinner with my mother in Port Washington at Finn McCools (and Brian had dinner with his mother somewhere else).. Mom had the sesame crusted tuna steak with mashed potatoes.
I had some really enjoyable thin pasta.
Then Brian and I re-met at the train station and went back to the city together.
