4/14/04 Cleaned up DVD shelf; 9th street Sushi w/Bri, Peter, David; Rich gets new Kitchen Toy:
I think I took this photo to showcase my lovely cleaning job underneath my DVD duplicator. I stacked all the blank DVD's the rolls of black gaffer's tape, and the video tapes neatly. Yay!
Then Brian, Peter and I wanted to try a new sushi place in the East Village. There are so many and the only way we're gonna know if Kura is the best is if we start to try all the others. So we go to a place on 9th street near 3rd avenue.
It looks good here, but the fish wasn't as fresh as at Kura and they had quirky menu problems. For example, you could get spicy yellowtail but not spicy tuna. That's just mean. They have the ingredients. Brian was shut out of his favorite item (and he didn't know what to replace that with). The waitress hated us after we made a stink about it, and we saw her bitch about us to her waitress friends in Japanese. It was fairly obvious... we thought. We don't speak Japanese. But we can read body language.
The tea mugs were kind of cute, though.
Peter and David.
Brian.
We probably won't be going back there, but I usually enjoy the thrill of trying no matter what. I had a good time.
Rich demonstrates a new toy that he's very excited about for his growing kitchen. It's one of those handheld whipper-blender things. Yay!
