6/25/04 WTC7 Rises Again; Fahrenheit 9/11 w/Natalie, Mommy, Peter & Daniel Yehuda:
Walking around my neighborhood, today, I took this photo from Liberty Plaza of the progress of our first new building near the World Trade Center site. World Trade Center #7 is rising across the street from the northern end of the WTC Site itself. I saw this building collapse with my own eyes while on "The Spirit of New Jersey," as we unloaded in Weehawken, escaping from Manhattan that fateful afternoon. This new building is identical to the one it replaces.
The evening was very exciting! Mommy, Peter, Daniel his friend from High School, and Natalie, were all meeting in the East Village for a screening of Farenheight 9/11, Michael Moore's documentary. Needless to say, the movie made us all very upset. It made Natalie cry. It made everyone shake. And I really think it was the beginning of the overwhelming intensity of all of our sentiment against the current administration. It had been festering to some degree in all of us up to that point. But after this movie, I think politics took on a greater role in all of our lives than it ever had before, as we led up to the election in November. [Written on December 5, 2004].
It was POURING rain this evening. Natalie, umbrellaless, got drenched.
After the movie, to unwind, we went to Typhoon and got a LITER of Sake.
Red Bean spring roll in green tea ice cream for dessert! Yum!
Natalie and I put the other three in a cab on St. Marks place, and we got into the subway.
A bass player and a singer were performing on the opposite platform at Union Square.
And we wait.......
