7/4/04 Going up to Boston for a Gopen Wedding:

Today, Natalie, Peter, Daddy and I went up to Boston for our Cousin's Wedding!

Daddy helps lay the clothes flat in the trunk.

Mommy sends us off.

Peter attempts to make sure that there will be no "lateral shifting" in the trunk as we drive, so that there might not be any unnecessary wrinkles in his suit.

Daddy tries again.

Somewhere along the I-95 or the I-90, I noticed Natalie's hair blowing in the wind. So I took a few cute "road trip" photos:

Then we stopped at the Traveler Food and Books place in Union CT, on the very border of Massachusetts. We've stopped at this place about 80% of the times we've driven up to Boston over the past two decades.

Peter was not pleased when I selected a frozen strawberry daiquiri off of their "new" frozen drinks menu.

You get to take home 3 free books with any meal! People bring in their old, useless, and used books from all around, to fill the shelves of this cozy roadside dive. The good books get sold in the cellar, but the weird ones... they are easily yours, as long as you eat there. Peter, in this photo, holds up an old book with 1970's style bubble lettering that says "The Peter Principle." We take the books as souvenirs. We almost never read them beyond the few minutes in the car immediately after pulling out of their lot.

Then we got to the hotel in Massachusetts, and Natalie got gussied up. She almost never wears make up of any kind, normally, so she looks a bit different here.

The groom is turned away as the bride is about to make her first entrance.

The three Merelis's in suits.

We took family photos around the gazebo.

Here's one of David and his sister Davida. Just add an A for the girl. I think it's a nice photo. But this is where my camera battery died.
