7/9/04 Dinner at Rice with Natalie in SOHO; Old St. John's Cathedral:

At dinner, this evening, Natalie surprised me with a few scale drawings of her proposal for my next stained glass project. I told her to design a window hanging, and she went ahead and designed four, that work together in a set. So now, I'm about to undertake a 4-panel stained glass project!!!

It's just lines on paper, right now.

This interesting Church was destroyed by fire a long time ago, and it's replacement seems very sparse above those columns, which hold up the undecorated part of the facade. Weird. This is actually the old St. John's Cathedral in NYC. The new one is the famous one now in Midtown. This is tucked away on Elizabeth St in SOHO.

Directly across the street from the church, someone has a huge photo of the pope in the window. Can you see it?

SOHO is awash with these extremely timely T-shirts. They make me smile.
