8/17/04 Firemen in 88 Lobby; Richard's New Hard Drive; Natalie on Platform:

After doing some errands around the neighborhood, I came back to my building to find it at the center of the action.

The lobby was filled with firemen in full gear. I would imagine this is what they looked like right before plunging up the stairwells of the World Trade Center buildings.

I asked Francis what was going on. He said it was a false alarm trip and that I could go upstairs.

So as the firemen tinkered with the alarm box,

Richard tinkered with a box of his own: a new hard drive enclosure.

Later, I met up with Natalie IN the subway. We do this somewhat frequently. If she's coming from one place, and I'm coming from another, but we're both headed along the same route to a common destination, we'll meet along the route, usually at the front end of the subway car/platform headed in that direction. I got a blurry photo of Natalie waiting on the platform as my train approached:

Apparently she was waiting a while, as she's sitting down.
