10/3/04 Mixed Reviews on the Water; Mama Mexico w/Natalie:

Today, I was chatting with the Circle Line employee that is responsible for giving out customer surveys on the boats. He was on one of my trips today, and he was giggling with his co-worker about a particular survey he collected from my trip:

A 36 year old Female who is from New York City and whose first trip on Circle Line was this afternoon, commented that "The Tour Guide (Narrator) was extremely annoying, and I have a headache. She chose the 75 minute Liberty Cruise for a reason not given on the multiple choice... the "Weather." Great. Of course, I asked to see another survey from the same trip on which there was also a written in comment...

Quote: "Great Narrator! Very friendly staff. Beautiful day!" This is from a 31 year old female from Minnesota who is also new to Circle Line, and who came out because of a "package." She chose the 75 minute trip for "The Number of Sites Included."

Well, you can't please everybody!

This evening, Natalie and I tried a place we had been to once before, but had become ill afterwards. Of course, we did not think the illness was related to the food, so we gave the place another shot. And this time it was peak dinner time, and there was the full mariachi band we saw on Emeril Live a month or two ago.

I tipped the guy five bucks.

They make a $12 guacamole at the table. You do not get $12 worth.

Quesadilla with chunks of meat. Not as good as it should be:

Mango smoothie.

Ceviche. So-so.

I think we've gotten this restaurant out of our system... but not our craving for the impossible to find: Good Mexican food in NYC.
