11/21/04 George and Natalie with Mom on LI; Cake for Erin:
Last night was one of the first times that I've ever sent a video team to a gig without me being there in person. It is a gut-wrenching experience... sort of. Like being on an airplane, which can last for hours... that sick feeling in the gut doesn't last the entire time... just when you choose to (or accidentally) think about sitting in a tin can being propelled fast enough to float. Well, last night, I was busy shooting my own show with Erica, but from time to time, I'd think of Natalie and George over at Roslyn High, and I would get a little nervous. It's not that I don't trust them... obviously I do. But thinking of the amazing number of little mission-critical things that can go wrong on a multi-camera video shoot, relying entirely on pro-sumer level equipment, far from my watchful gaze can be an alarming feeling after spending years cultivating the trust and relationship necessary to profit from adequately serving the needs of a client.
It went well, but ran very late, and so Natalie and George slept over my mom's house, and I got home via train and Taxi at 1:30 in the morning, greeting them formally when the sun came up.
George is crushing my head.
Natalie and I were soon to celebrate Erin's 24th Birthday. Natalie thought it might be a nice idea to make a small cake for them, when we see her tomorrow night.
We had some icing and a plastic bag with which to decorate the cake.
Yay!
