11/30/04: Elana's Sub-Outfit; Diet Dr. Thunder; Painting Guitar w/Nat:

Elana came by the apartment today in an outfit that I mentioned looked
fit for a substitute teacher... which she is, from time to time.

In the subway at Rector Street (BMT), I stood near some garbage. On one
of the bins, I noticed a can of soda that seemed normal at first....

But upon closer inspection... I've never heard of "Diet Dr. Thunder" in my life!!!!

This evening I met up with Natalie and her mom at a spanish restaurant
called Pepa, that is very good. I took a photo of this dish because it
looked pretty.
Later in the evening, Natalie got into her comfy clothes and did the laundry. I was a big help, as you can see.

While we stayed up waiting for the loads to finish, we broke out some
painting supplies, and Natalie painted. The only thing the had in mind
is that she wanted the painting to be of a guitar in some surreal way.

She has a set of oil paints. She took some classes at NYU and in High School.

The finished product looks like this. At one point while Natalie was
painting, and I was admiring, I noticed that a long piece of her hair
had fallen on the canvas. When I went to pick it up, it scraped some
blue paint, from the notes, and made a thin blue line. I then got an
idea, and repeated the effect, using a piece of her hair, over and
over, until we ended up with the staff for the notes! I got to help
make the painting!!!

I did accidentally push my finger in the blue paint and made some small dots as well, but I think it gives it added charm.

To finish up the evening, Natalie set about to paint the edges of a previous painting black.
