12/6/04 Pizza in Stamford; Coming Home:

This evening was Natalie's grandfathers' funeral, which I attended in Stamford. Afterwards, a large group of the close family went to a unique dive of a pizzeria around the corner, that serves the thinnest and crispiest pizza I have ever seen. It's barely pizza, except for the roundness, the cutting into slices, and the general ingredients used. It almost deserves another name.

It also requires LOTS of slices to get full, as there's nothing doughy about it.

Before our express train to Grand Central Station arrived at Stamford, this train pulled in and waited for a bit, without opening it's doors, before pulling out. So everyone watched it with the kind of anticipation you'd expect a child to have as a lollipop is unwrapped for him. Similarly, everyone looked somewhat disappointed when the train, which was clearly not our train, pulled out of the station.

At Grand Central station, we descended to the subway level, and were serenaded as we waited for our downtown Lexington avenue express.
