01/05/05 A Night Cooking at Home with the Entire Apartment Family: 


Richard has stayed busy this winter, and from the sound of it, there's no end in sight. He has a few project lining up for the next few months that may take him away from our new Apartment for a great deal of time. Thus is the life of a gaffer in the film industry. But... tonight he is free, and we were finally able to arrange an evening where we could all have a family meal together, cooked at home, in a collaborative way.

First, Richard works to build a few shelves on casters under his desk.





Peter observes Richard's handy-work, while David checks out my website on Peter's computer.


Natalie makes some phone calls from her cell phone at my desk.

Then the cooking begins:



Even I cooked! That's my handy-work pictured above, and I roasted a whole clove of garlic in the oven for my bruschetta appetizer.






Peter makes sure the Ice Cream Maker is whirring properly.


And Natalie added some goat cheese to the top of the appetizer.


It was very nice, I have to say, to see everyone together, at work in the Kitchen.






Richard's task was to re-heat some of the amazing leftovers from New Year's. Phyllis always sends us home full, and with more food to eat later!








It was a jovial and friendly mood. Even Richard's tea maker got to know Peter's tea maker a little better.


And we topped it off with home-made ice cream.
