01/22/05 Natalie Begins her
6-Month Move; Preparing for and cooking in the Blizzard of
2005:
Well... it's A blizzard, anyway.
Natalie begins her six-month long move into my apartment by bringing
over her small TV set (because our building cable hasn't been installed
yet, and they're saying a few more weeks before it is. So, we figure we
gan get a signal THROUGH THE AIR, like in the old days, for a few
channels in the meantime.

You TUNE into your channel.

Oh, and she brought over some of her DVD collection.

When the Fab-4 decided to go to the supermarket to get food before the
blizzard began... the blizzard began.

The median on 4th avenue, with subway vents in the middle.

Apparently, everyone else in the neighborhood had the same idea.

And then shopping made us hungry.

David did it!!!!!!!!!!! (And then there were 5).

You would think that Peter would make a happay face while holding up
this confectionary delight. But no, here he is, holding up a lovely
cake... frowning. This is for two possible reasons:
1) He is thinking about the amount of calories, rather than the taste.
2) He is throwing it out because it got old and we forgot to eat it.
I think in this cake, the latter is true.

This afternoon, someone in the apartment was selecting photographs on
Facemix.com. Apparently the website works like this:
1) You submit a good-looking photograph of yourself.
2) Photos are then displayed side by side, and you vote on which of the
two random photos you think is the more attractive person.
3) Then you get ranked.
Someone in the apartment (most likely Peter or David) was midnlessly
cycling through the photos, and came across... PETER!)

Here I am at work, from the perspective of Peter at work.
The dinner photos:

This is me.... cooking.

Peter checks out the local scenery as the snow begins to fall faster.

We saw a guy cross-country skiing up St. Marks place!!!! This is
totally an "only in New York" moment.

Once the snow started accumulating enough that the car traffic slowed
to a crawl, it seemed that people preferred to walk home in the middle
of the street, rather than on the sidewalks. I guess the sidewalks get
boring after a while.
