02/27/05 Cables on 59; Park Slope and Prospect Park with Erin and Aaron; Oscars Night at Louie's:

From my balcony, I'm getting used to seeing cable draped from the roof, to supply me with satellite TV.

Erin and Aaron came by to see the apartment and the neighborhood, though I think it's a bit too late to convince them to move here, as they are both making pretty serious plans for their WEDDING in California this summer.

Walking down 5th avenue...

We had brunch at Besso, known as one of the best Brunches in Brooklyn. I was totally underwhelmed.

Then we walked through Prospect Park.

We didn't get far before Erin had to use the ladie's room, and with none in sight, we went on a search that led us out of the park and back to 7th avenue.

These porta-potties looked promising at first....

...but the only unlocked one had been overrun with... poo.

At the 9th Street exit on the west side of Prospect Park.

9th street looking west.

Applewood.. we'll have to remember to come back and try this some time.

I wonder why the top of the beautiful corner of this building says "Liberty."

These trees don't look indigenous. Neither do the slowly melting snowmen.

The song menu has to be read sideways, which is trendy and silly.

After a lovely afternoon with Erin and Aaron, Natalie and I headed for Astoria with Elana for Louie's annual oscars party.

Everyone gets a form to fill out with their guesses of who will win each category. Louie usually has a prize for the person with the most (and sometimes also the least) correct guesses.

I love the clutter on the fridge.

The prize this year was a record of the Mary Poppin's original cast recording, and a horrible bootleg of the best movie almost ever... The Incredibles.

I got 9 correct, but Natalie got 16 out of 18 correct and won!!!!!
