03/19/05 Natalie and I have Brunch at Moutarde; Erica and I go to Show Win while taping in Kings Park:

One of my favorite buildings on the commercial strip of 5th avenue in Park Slope is below. It's one of the ones from the late 1800's that has a squared off corner above the street level, and the date of construction at the top of the building. These can be very ugly if not treated properly, but this one is kept in beautiful condition, and the french-style small-restaurant at the bottom adds the perfect aesthetic.

Natalie and I discover Moutarde's $4.50 plate of buttery breads, including fantastic croissants, some filled with chocolate.

Natalie and I walked around the neighborhood a bit this morning. We enjoy doing so on those weekend days when I have the morning free, but I have to tape a play in the evening.

Speaking of which, when Erica and I found ourselves near Northport, with some free time after setting up the equipment, we couldn't resist a trip to Show Win.

At the show, Erican and I open one of the snacks we found at a near-by deli... a Kinder Egg... which is a chocolate egg filled with the plastic parts you need to build a very small, sometimes functional, toy. It would seem to be great for small kids, except for the choking hazard that makes these eggs fairly illegal to give to children.

Fully assembled... there are different toys that come in different eggs, and you'll never know what you're going to get until you open the egg! It even comes with stickers!!! The wrapper is in many languages other than English, again, because its ILLEGAL here!

It was fun to assemble... but it left me with the distinct feeling of "now what do I do with it?"
