04/17/05 Natalie and I Bike down Ocean Parkway to Coney Island; Chillin' at Erica's Apartment in Bed-Stuy:
After a hearty breakfast, Natalie and I embarked on our bike ride to Coney Island!

Here we are posing for photos at the southern end of Prospect Park.

From Prospect Park down to Coney Island, we were able to use the bike
path on one of the two medians on Ocean Parkway. This was built as an
early parkway in 1895, making this this oldest bike path in the world!
On our way down, we looked for my grandfather's old house where he grew
up, right near Avenue J on Ocean Parkway. He had given me the exact
house number a few months ago at a family gathering.

We found the house that matched the address and took photos. Later on
Papa would say that he thinks, based on the photos, his childhood house
has been completely replaced, as he does not recognize it.

Other houses near by.

Later on, Ocean Parkway passes a large cemetary.

There is an elevated train line (The F) That runs right above the cemetary! It is visible in the background of the above photo.

So is the Verrazanno Bridge.

Here, we cross under the Belt Parkway and enter Coney Island. Feast your eyes:

When Natalie and I got home, Peter was there! He was fresh back from Japan, and he brought Sake!

Our new Orchid... less healthy.
This evening, Natalie and I went to Erica's apartment to hang out with
her, a couple of her friends, and her talented roommate Chris.

Chris wrote diagrams showing how they could get a washing unit out of the basement.
Then we all put on wigs and played a trivia game.

Chris, a consummate artist, made this awesome portrait of himself.

Chris is currently the Book Arts counselor at Buck's Rock. He made this book, for example.
