05/21/05 A Full Rainbow above the Upper New York Bay; Forlini's with Natalie's Family:

This evening I did the 7pm 2-hour tour. It's called the "Harbor Lights" tour for no specific reason that I am aware of. This is because to the best of my knowledge, the harbor has no lights. The city has lights. The buildings do too. There is light coming from the sunset. It could be the city lights tour, or the sunset tour. But somehow, even though it's the most technically incorrect way of putting it, "Harbor Lights" seems to roll off the tongue more nicely.

During the tour, a storm had just passed, and as we approached the Statue of Liberty, the sky filled with a complete rainbow!!! And I mean, complete. All the colors, and the full arch dipping into the waters of the bay on both sides!!!

The right side.

The left side.

It was spectacular. I stopped the tour to gawk at it and take photos like everyone else on board. I can be a tourist too!!!

After my trip, I joined Natalie and her family for a late dinner at an Italian place in Chinatown.
