05/29/05 Natalie's Parents first look at our first Apartment; Biking to the Brooklyn Bridge:

Today, Natalie's parents got their first look at the apartment in Brooklyn that their daughter just moved into with me. Natalie cooked a feast for the occasion, cleaned the place up to an immaculate level, and pulled out all the stops.

She made ravioli from scratch! SCRATCH!

She set the table impeccably. Floral arrangement and all.

Spinach and Ricotta.

Although she says the dough was too think on one of the two batches of Ravioli, overall the meal was a huge success. After digesting a bit, we checked out the neighborhood by taking a walk, following a very similar path to the one my mom and Richard's parents took when they first saw the apartment and neighborhood.

Natalie's mom stops to look at the stoop sale on the way.

Natalie and Mr. Coleman are less excited about the stoop sale.

We walk all the wat to the new water fountain at the Brooklyn Museum.

Back at the apartment for dessert...

They brought us a plant to decorate our balcony.

And Natalie kept the food coming!

Meanwhile, from out balcony we noticed a guy with a decorative fan or easel having his photo taken by someone with a medium-format camera... in front of an ugly wall.

At one point we went up to the roof to check out the view:

We all had a lovely time. And towards the end of the day, Natalie and I biked to the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Manhattan Bridge near by.

Natalie and I thought it would be funny to take my photo in front of this huge goup of people getting their photo taken. It was. At the time.
