MAY 2005 OBSERVATIONS:
05/03/05 :

Family meal.

Strawberry shakes!
05/06/05 :

Natalie waits to open the gates to the driveway behind her apartment.
Her move from her place in Astoria to mine in Brooklyn has officially
begun!! Some of her stuff is coming to the new apartment, but this
evening she packed a load destined for her parents' house in
Connecticut,

Her apartment has a convenient back door to the driveway, down a few steps.

Helping her mom find the right street on the crazy grid of Queens.

Loading the car.
05/10/05 :

Natalie arrives... with stuffed animals. These guys hold down the bed...

...and watch TV when we're not looking.

Natalie quickly fills her dresser next to mine, and decorates the top(s) as well!

And she buys me new black pants to shoot video in.

Here are some of the books I'm reading.
05/11/05 :

Peter and David have figured out how to make Thai Iced Tea at home, and this is a wonderful thing.
05/12/05 :

This is a photograph of me on a unicycle at Camp, back in 1995! It
looks weird because it's a picture of a picture. I took two versions,
at two different settings, which yielded different results.

05/15/05 :
From time to time, god bless her heart, Natalie helps me shoot a play.
This usually happens when I canot find anybody else to do the job.
She's a wonderful sport about it, and is quite good, though she has no
passion for it. So it's great that she can fill in when needed, but I
try to make sure to get my employees to fill the slots.

I think my eye is about to blink. Why one and not both I do not know!

We taped a dance show in a black box at Lincoln Center. Natalie tests out the floor space as we set up our shots!
05/17/05 :

I now have two fully-loaded packages!

This is at the 86th or 96th street station (I can't remember which)
under Central Park West. I thought it was very funny that the sign
remains even when there is almost no evidence that there ever was an
intercom on this column!
05/18/05 :

Today, before setting up to tape a show, I got to watch the end of a piano concert. It's a small perk of the job.
05/19/05 :

Breakfast burrito!
05/23/05 :

This is what the inside of my fully loaded silver case looks like when
we go out on gigs. It's a mess! But, we use every single piece of
equipment we bring!

From time to time my videographers and I get to have a meal before
shooting that is not quite as basic as pizza or bagels. Here's some
sushi we shared today.

Dessert?
05/26/05 :

At Taro, they know me. I'm a regular. So in my chirashi lunch I found a small piece of Uni! This means they like me. I think.

They also usually tell me about any specials they have in. Here is one of those specials.
05/28/05 :

I don't remember.

05/31/05 :

The glass building on the old parking lot on the south side of Astor
Place is complete! I like the way the other buildings in the area
reflect on the glass surfaces of the building. In a way, this brings
the context of the neighborhood literally onto this building, even
though it is clearly the new out-of-place modern building next to the
beautiful old brownstone of cooper-union.

I expanded my equipment package at B&H today!

Natalie cleverly uses a step-stool to get to the microwave that I might
have instructed the builders of our apartment to put slightly too high
on the wall. I just didn't want the counter space underneath to be
useless.
