06/03/05 Driving up to Newport, RI:

I was looking forward to my mini-weekend-vacation with Natalie. But this morning I had some business to attend to at one of my more upscale client schools. Look at this room! On the table are order forms, organized by grade and class, that we were about to wrap around my DVD duplications that I was delivering today.

I am very proud of my three complete sets of equipment. We can now shoot 3 gigs at once!

Natalie and I stop at "City Sub" for a sandwich or two for the road.

Apparently the owner, not necessarily pictured above, was a sushi chef who decided to put his skills towards the ultimate american "maki..."  the sandwich.

Mmmmm.

On the train up to New Canaan, we passed through the bar car, which I took photos of. The only railroad left on the east coast of this country running regular bar-car service is Metro North's New Haven line. I had my first legal drink as a 21 year old on a bar car like this one, because I thought it would be novel, and I like trains. Richard and Mike took the trip with me some years ago, and we ended up at Morton's Steak House by the Stamford train station because it was the only thing around that we saw.

Natalie's parents packed their car full of goodies before sending us on our way.
